William Turner MA (1509/10 – 13 July 1568) was an English divine and reformer, a physician and a natural historian.He has been called "The father of English botany." There he produced a series of drawings of the town and surrounding area that foreshadowed his later work. Measuring 35 3 ⁄ 4 in × 48 1 ⁄ 4 in (91 cm × 123 cm) in oil on canvas, it is now on display at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
